4 is Great but what about the other 48 ?

I am told, and I have been in recruitment for 17 years, that most people spend more time planning their holidays than planning their career. As the average holiday allowance( for those in a job) is 4 weeks, and there are 52 weeks in a year, what about the other 48? Hence 4 is great but what bout the other 48?

The answer could be in the planning… As an oft quoted American University study revealed that out of 100 students the 3% who planned their career ended up being worth more than the 97% who didn’t.

People start looking for a job for a number of different reasons:

This can vary from being unemployed, and needing a job to pay the bills, being under employed and needing more work, to wanting to change … “I need a job as long as it’s not the job I already have ” ( the crisis management approach.)

At Sentio Recruit we are passionate about helping people manage their career. We all spend a lot of time at work, and I guess if we take just a bit of time to plan some of it, the Monday mornings in some of those other 48 might feel a bit better…

Next time we will be starting the step by step guide to managing your career.
